Wrinkle treatment may be in the form of topical treatments such as alpha-hydroxy acids and retinoids.

AHA

Alpha-hydroxy acids or AHAs are natural fruit acids that peel the upper layer of dead skin cells to lessen fine lines and wrinkles especially in areas around the eyes. AHAs reliably stimulate collagen production.

Retinoids

Retinoids which are known commercially as tretinoin are the only FDA approved topical treatment. The prescription cream effectively reduces large wrinkles and fine lines while repairing sun damage.

Retinol is considered a natural kind of vitamin A which is included in a number of over the counter products. High amounts of Retinol is just as effective as Retin A and does not cause side effects such as burning and sensitivity.

Other known wrinkle treatment are tretinoin, glycosaminoglycans, derma fillers and botulinum toxin.

Tretinoin

Tretinoin is known to stimulate mitotic activity while glycosaminoglycans maintain structural integrity in tissues while maintaining fluid balance.

Derma Fillers

Derma fillers are injectable remedies that are used to correct wrinkles as well as other depressions in the skin. The filler is usually a soft tissue which can be injected into the skin to improve skin appearance.

Botox

An example of Botulinum toxin is Botox which is a cosmetic product that contains a neurotoxin. Botulinum toxin cures wrinkles through immobilization of muscles which causes the wrinkles. However, it is not applicable to all kinds of wrinkles.protein.

Examples of medical or spa wrinkle treatment aside from Botox and wrinkle fillers are laser or light resurfacing, chemical peels and dermabrasion.

Laser Resurfacing

Laser/light resurfacing uses energy from light source such as laser or pulsed diode light to eliminate the upper layer of the skin to form a smoother, more wrinkle free skin.

chemical Peeling

Chemical peeling involves the burning away of the top layer of the skin to form damage that allows body to respond by forming more collagen, eventually resulting in a more smoother and younger looking skin.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion uses a vacuum suction device used with mild chemical crystal to remove skin topmost layer and form new evenly textured skin.
